From Where I Stand: Street Art in Budapest, Hungary

March 10, 2012 § Leave a comment

One the of joys in life is finding art in unexpected places.  This little guy is tucked away near an unremarkable doorway off a little street in Budapest.  I like the colors, texture, and wear of the building: the cracks in the paint, the varying layers and smears of cement, the holes around the edges of the inlay.  What purpose did this niche have?  When was it built?  How long has it been vacant?  And now it is home to a most dramatic looking mouse.  I just love the expression he (is it a he?) is making.  Is this his reaction to being found?  Eek! I hope he brightens your day as he did mine.
